These Eizo CG monitors are quite simply the best of the best - no other monitors really compare to the total package of high quality advanced features, ease of use and and overall fantastic quality and support that the Eizo ColourEdge CG range has to offer.
All monitors in the CG Pro range come with fully integrated, automatic direct hardware calibration using a very high quality in-built full RGB calibration sensor - a feature unique to these Eizos. This sensor offers fantastic calibration across the entire gamut and in particular, gives these monitors unmatched dark tone separation and excellent neutrals - perfect for fine art work.
The fastest and easiest way to calibrate & profile a monitor - you don't have to touch the monitor's controls as it's all taken care of for you - just define your settings and let the system do the work for you.
These monitors have a wide gamut display, which allows the monitor to display a much wider range of saturated colours, (almost all of AdobeRGB), and is therefore perfect for all serious image makers. Photographers benefit from being able to accurately edit more of the colours their camera can capture, and graphic artists benefit from being able to more accurately preview a wider range of spot colours, including many popular Pantones that fall outside of normal monitor gamuts.
The in-built RGB correction sensor in the CG Pro Range can address R,G,B gammas individually - meaning you get the best and most accurate dark tone separation available, and the most accurate neutrals. While good for everyone, this is of particular note to fine art photographers and black and white aficionados.

These come with the lot! Monitor, most cable options, stand, hood, calibration software, in-built calibration sensor, Eizo ColorNavigator software, individual measurement certificate - everything you need to sort out your monitor once and for all!
The CG Range share most of the features of the CG X (CG Pro) range. The primary difference (apart from the lower price!) - is they include a more basic calibrator. This calibrator is more like a 'Spyder' level calibrator that can only measure the combined RGB gamma. The net results means reduced performance in the calibration, particularly with respect to very dark tones and neutrals.
That being said, you get almost all of the benefits & quality of the CG Pro range, and unless you're inclined to work specifically & regularly in the darker tones, in most typical scenarios you'd be hard pushed to see any practical difference.

An in-built calibrator means you get fully automatic, set and forget calibration. While the sensor in these is not quite up to the CG Pro standards, you get all the automation benefits and excellent results.
High Bit Look Up Tables allow colour transformations to occur on R,G and B simultaneously, which increases speed and accuracy. Basically, a high bit LUT means better, more accurate calibrations.
These are Eizo's competitors to BenQ's very popular SW Range. The panels in these are not quite as good as those in the CG models, but 'not quite as good' for Eizo still tends to mean better than everyone else in terms of performance!
This new range is proving hugely popular with image makers in Australia and for good reason.
While these do cost more than the BenQ options, you get slightly more refined monitors - Eizo's typically have better dark tone and neutrals behaviour - and an extra two years of warranty. Some would argue argue the extra cost is worth it just for the extra warranty alone.
If you add an i1Display Pro calibrator to one of these, you'll get very close to CG level performance at a much reduced price - we think this is an excellent choice for a lot of people, whether serious enthusiast or professional.

LCD Monitors coming off a production line typically exhibit some uniformity issues. Uniformity corrected monitors are broken into zones, measured, and each zone calibrated to be even with its neighbours. It's an important part of the process of high end LCD making.
The EV Range are really high end general purpose monitors and entry level colour accurate monitors. They're very popular in high end office environments like air traffic control, finance desks, and have a number of ergonomic features that make them excellent general purpose screens.
These monitors still offer high quality panels and more extensive calibration controls, but they do not have advanced features like wide gamut support or uniformity enhancement.
They are however still a huge leap
forward in general colour accuracy terms over other panel brands like Apple/Dell/LG etc. They're aimed at the prosumer market more so than the professional market, but some professionals use them for example as studio monitors do do basic image inspection during shoots, and for things like typical wedding and portrait retouching work.
No need for a monitor hood as these screens have a new generation anti-glare coating which is particularly good for ensuring little to no reflections.
Display the typical sRGB range of colours - fine for most photographic work and certainly for web development, video work, and gaming.
Excellent attention to ergonomics, very low power consumptions, and features to reduce monitor eye fatigue mean these are very comfortable to use, even for very long sessions.
These monitors are the first big step up from 'regular' monitors from office brands. Far superior to e.g. Dell Ultrasharps and Apple displays, but without the price tag of the more exotic models, these are really the minimum level of monitor image makers should be choosing.
