The backlight reduces contrast between screen brightness and the surrounding environment, while the front light delivers a consistent 500 lx over an 33.2 x 19.7” area, ensuring balanced illumination across your keyboard and workspace. ScreenBar Halo 2’s ultra-wide front and back lighting is designed to balance your entire field of vision, maintaining a light contrast ratio of less than 1:3, in line with ANSI recommendations.

Backlight Research and Innovation
After collaborating with university research institutions, BenQ conducted studies on the relationship between backlighting and eye comfort, striving to create the most ergonomic eye-care products. The BenQ team applied the experimental findings to their products, ensuring they meet the ANSI standard of a screen-to-surrounding light contrast ratio of less than 3:1.

Automatic Lights On as You Sit
With its ultrasonic sensor positioned 50 cm (19.7”) above the desktop, it detects at a distance of 60 ± 10 cm (23.6 ± 3.9”) in front of the screen. Its detection shape is conical, which helps prevent unnecessary activation of the light, such as when the user walks past the desk. Since the sensor uses motion detection to decide whether to keep the light on or turn it off, if users remain still (e.g., watching a video) or make subtle movements (e.g., typing without body movements), the light may detect no motion and turn off after 5 minutes.
*ScreenBar Halo 2 uses an ultrasonic sensor to auto-control the light by emitting high-frequency sound waves and detecting movement based on reflected signals. However, environmental interference like temperature changes from heating/cooling devices or vibrations from humidifiers may affect accuracy and cause activation.

With just one click, ScreenBar Halo 2 provides the recommended working illuminance of 500 lx, reducing eye strain during extended use.
Flicker-Free & No Blue-Light Hazard
Passed EU IEEE PAR 1789 for flicker-free performance and certified with EU IEC TR 62471 approval for no blue light hazard.
