Image Science Now a Hahnemühle Platinum Certified Studio

We're proud to announce that Image Science is now a Hahnemühle Platinum Certified Print Studio - and it's kind of a big deal!

Not only are we the first print studio in Australia to be awarded Platinum status, we are the third studio in the entire world to be given this title - so we can state with confidence that we are one of the top fine art print studios worldwide, with our knowledge and expertise backed by a global industry leader in digital inkjet fine art printing.

So what does it actually mean to be a Hahnemühle Platinum Certified studio?

The Hahnemühle Excellence Program

Based on their internationally recognised Hahnemühle Certified Studio program, the newly-created tiered Hahnemühle Excellence Program was created to highlight print studios across the world who focus on achieving printing excellence, quality consistency and outstanding knowledge and skill in the fine art printing and art reproduction arenas.

This internationally recognised accreditation is assessed by Hahnemühle experts adhering to the strictest criteria, and bestowed on studios who demonstrate advanced knowledge and competence in archivability, colour management and the fine art inkjet printing workflow.

Achieving the Hahnemühle Certified Studio Platinum status makes you one of the best Hahnemühle Certified Studios worldwide. You have excellent knowledge and advisory skills on the strengths and variety of the Hahnemühle FineArt portfolio as well as on the archivability and longevity of artwork and fine art prints. An outstanding printing experience on Hahnemühle media is guaranteed at your print studio.

Platinum Status

With the new tiered Excellence Program, our status has been elevated from Certified to Platinum Certified.  To achieve this status, our studio must be able to satisfy a specialist technician on a number of requirements.

Some of these requirements are:

Expertise on Archivability

Have an advanced level of knowledge and advisory skills about the archivability and longevity of our prints and the paper they are printed on.

Colour Managed Workflow

Fully implement a finely tuned, colour managed workflow with the ability to create custom ICC profiles.  Since Image Science director Jeremy Daalder literally wrote the book on digital imaging, we pass this requirement with flying colours!

Colour Accurate Lighting

Implement a light-controlled environment which allows for accurate colour rendering and matching in the fine art printing and art reproduction process.

Experience in the Field

Must be operating for at least three years as a fine art printing business with a yearly printing volume of 1.500 sqm (no worries there, we've been in the business for over twenty years!)

State of the Art Equipment

Use only the most up to date software and hardware and at least two large fine art inkjet printers in our printing process.  At Image Science we use only the latest and best wide format Epson printers to create our fine art prints.

Archival Materials

Use only the best archival materials to create our fine art prints, including a wide range of Hahnemühle's excellent fine art inkjet papers.  Not only do we offer 8 inkjet media options from this respected leader in fine art materials, we also use Epson archival Ultrachrome pigment inks to print with.
