Week 3: Pink Ice Protea

Lara's Story: Pink Ice Protea

I have always loved the striking & bold nature of Proteas. Even though they are not technically an Australian Native flower they are an extension of my love for all Indigenous flora & fauna.

This watercolour artwork was an enjoyable escape from my usual single colour work produced for textiles. It was lovely to play with colour, and I enjoyed a departure from traditional watercolour styles, instead focussing on the effect of overlapping transparent shapes.

This print, along with many others, is available to purchase from the Ink & Spindle website.
