A review of BenQ's new ergonomic monitor arm, the BSH01, where we evaluate its build quality, ease of setup and performance.
Spoiler time... Four words are sufficient to describe BenQ's new monitor arm, and they are:
In short it features a very premium build; super solid, great stability, sleek design, smooth adjustments, and excellent cable management. It's great!
Here's what BenQ say about the BSH01:
There are actually two models of arms that BenQ have released: the Single arm (the BSH01 we're reviewing here) is available in Black and White, and there's is also a Dual arm model (the BDH01), which is only available in Black.
The build quality is absolutely top notch, and is the most stand-out aspect of the arm.
All the main components are made from a sturdy metal alloy, with a lovely looking (I'm inclined to say powder-) coating, and all the mating surfaces are very nicely machined and fit together with wonderful tolerances.
Furthermore, it's incredibly sturdy, with no hint of sag, drooping, wobbling, or rattling that is all too common on most monitor arms - truly a league above.
It mounts to your desk in one of two ways - the traditional c-clamp, with optional reinforcement plate for thin, glass, or fragile desks, but also will mount in a cable grommet through hole that many desks feature. Both options will mount to desks from 17-50mm thick, while the grommet mount will fit a 12-60mm diameter hole.
The gas strut has a preset tension level that should suit most monitors, but it also features a fine adjustment screw to really dial it in.
The included cable management is a nice touch to keep your power and signal cables up and out of the way - giving a nice clean desk, but maintaining full range of movement.
BenQ include a small reversible metal cam ring that lets you select between a full 360° range of swivel, or to limit it down to a 180° range of swivel. The former being great for a consultative type space where you need to show the monitor to someone across the desk from you, and the latter being good for if your desk is up against a wall to prevent damage to the wall.

BenQ provide some good (dare I say Ikea-style) pictographic instructions and all the required parts very nicely laid out in a long heat-segmented bag, with each compartment clearly labelled according to what step it's for (a lovely touch).

In conclusion, BenQ’s BSH01 monitor arm is, quite simply, a standout piece of desk hardware. From its rock-solid premium construction, to its smooth and ample adjustability, it feels engineered with genuine care and longevity in mind. The thoughtful touches like the dual mounting options, a smart swivel-limiting cam, clean cable routing, and clear frustration-free assembly elevate it beyond the crowded field of generic monitor arms into a truly premium product.
If you’re looking for an arm that won’t sag, wobble, or loosen over time, and one that looks as refined as it performs, the BSH01 delivers in every category. Sure, it’s an investment, but one that truly does justify itself through great build quality and usability.
Please note the Ergo Arm is not sold separately and is only available when purchased at the same time as a BenQ monitor.
