We provide a high quality retouching service, trusted by many professional artists, photographers and historians, starting from simple print-ready work through to intricate, more complex types of retouching and restoration.
Maintaining image integrity is our key priority, so we take time to view each individual piece and discuss the finer details with you to ensure that we achieve the best possible result within an efficient time frame.
How it Works
1) Come In For A Chat
Bring
in your image/work so we can discuss what is to be completed and
provide a quote on the estimated time required to complete the
retouching.
If you can't make it in, you can send us your
materials or basic photos of your materials so we can assess things with
you over the phone/email.
2) Leave It To Us
We
will get started on your retouching job and will notify you once it has
been completed. Turn around times vary per job, but will typically be
around 2-3 days.
3) Enjoy!
Your retouching job will be burned to disk so you can safely archive it. We can also print a copy of your retouched file through our Fine Art Printing Service if required.
Retouching Types
Print-ready Retouching for Film Scans
Have your film scans finished as print-ready files. This service includes cropping/rotation as required, complete dust and scratch removal at 100% zoom, setting of final black and white points and basic colour balancing such as warming or cooling.
Print-ready Retouching for Art Reproduction and Flatbed Scans
Create print-ready files of your artwork from our direct scanning service. This includes cropping/rotation as required, complete dust and scratch removal at 100% zoom, setting of final black and white points, basic colour balancing such as warming or cooling and remove the background paper/texture/colour from the original artwork if required.
Photo Restoration
Have your old photographs brought back to their original condition (or as close to it as possible!) - with an overall clean of the image. This service includes colour balancing, dust and scratch removal at 100% zoom, and basic cosmetic retouching as required – torn edges, missing emulsion etc.
Advanced Retouching
This service is for any piece that requires a lot of restoration and repair. We are able to work to your specifications to restore or re-construct the final image including head swapping, extracting and montaging, digital grading and any other retouching that may be required.
FAQs
Every job is different and is charged at $120/hour with a minimum of 30 minutes/$60. We will need to view the work and discuss with you what is required to enable us to provide an estimated time frame and therefore an estimate cost.
If once we sit down to do the job the work proves more complex than anticipated, we will contact you to re-confirm the details, but we have enough experience that this is rare.
