The Tasmanian Oak Box Frame is a raw light timber frame of the 'box' style - i.e. a modern style where the print is set at the back of the frame, noticeably away from the glass. This not only looks great and gives the work real depth on your wall, but it also really helps the eye see through the glass to the print itself and helps the viewer appreciate the fine art paper of the print more easily.

It is an extremely popular contemporary framing style, our personal favourite, and gives your fine art prints a modern & professional finish.

Available in three sizes, ready for you to pop your prints straight in:

A4 - Fits sheet size 29.7 x 21cm (11.7 x 8.3 inches)
A3 - Fits sheet size 42 x 29.7cm (16.5 x 11.7 inches)
A2 - Fits sheet size 59.4 x 42cm (23.4 x 16.5 inches)

Dimension of frame: 20mm wide at the face and 30mm deep from side on.

These frames are only available for pick up and can not be shipped. If you are wanting to place a large order, please allow 5 days lead time as we only keep limited stock in our office.

Milled by 'Victorian Ash' in Heyfield, our Tasmanian Oak frames are highly sustainable and environmentally friendly. Ash take great care in their harvesting and regeneration processes to ensure a sustainable practice. Ash say:

  • 100% of our timber is sourced from regrowth forests.
  • 100% is regrown.
  • Before harvesting, all flora, fauna, silvicultural, historical and cultural aspects are surveyed, plotted and allowed for.
  • The harvesting process is scientifically designed to mimic natural growth pattern of Victorian Ash species to ensure regeneration occurs within an organic cycle.
  • Only 6% of Victoria’s total forest area is both suitable and allocated for harvesting and regeneration on an 80 year cycle. These areas are scattered throughout the state to minimize and spread impact. 70% of the Victorian ash forests are in National Parks and reserves.
  • Less than 0.05% of the forest area is harvested each year on an 80 year rotation. (Yes, that decimal point is in the right place). It is then regenerated. Meaning only 1/80th of the 6% is harvested in one year.
  • The seed mix of each harvest is collected and re-planted in place of harvest to maintain diversity.
  • Around 200,000 seeds are sown per hectare during aerial seeding. That’s around 400 million seeds per year.
  • 100% of each log we receive is used. Eg Off-cuts are finger jointed to make structural timber and sawdust used as a green energy solution to power our kilns.
  • We are proudly third party audited for Australian Forest Standard (AFS), the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC), the Environmental Management System ISO14001.
